Registration of craftsmen engaged in the field of handicrafts industry being scattered throughout the island is done by the National Crafts Council. What is expected out of it is to maintain a continuous co ordination with craftsmen by selecting those who are engaged in the field of handicrafts and establishing their identity.
By that it is expected to intervene at state level for socio-economic promotion of the handicraftsmen and to provide them with instructions and facilities required for their productions.
